Hello people, what’s up! This is my first blog, so I won’t bore or annoy you with something to heavy. This blog will basically introduce you to my world of books and my passion for reading. So, let’s start the voyage….
Every journey is different depending from person to person.
For me, there were three phases;
FIRST PHASE:
Introduction to Reading:
Well, it all commenced with the library period in school. For everyone this was a nightmare, because after studying for eight hours, again doing the same thing, was a bit too much. Not for me, as I enjoyed the company of a book, more than anything else.
SECOND PHASE:
My interest in reading books kicked off, and I started researching for new genres and authors online. But they were just small articles, and buying the books was not an option, as it was too expensive for a school going person.
THIRD PHASE:
Well, today I can proudly say, I have read a lot of books from different genres. Also I own a lot of novels, some brought during book sales online and offline.
In life, everyone has a story to share. I know, sounds like a cliché. Still it is true and in this blog; I will share my story about my love for books
I am an introvert person, no like seriously. In a room filled with people who I know, you will find me in a corner plotting ways to get out. I will find a corner and start reading a book on a phone or maybe read the one I carry for emergencies. Most of the times, I can be found at home on my bed or on a chair reading a book.
Yeah, well, you can call me socially impaired or awkward. But, that is the way it is.
Nonetheless, I love reading…
Give me a book and leave me alone. My friends think I am mad. Well, I agree. People are interested in retail therapy when they are sad. But me, well I believe in book therapy. This is because, whenever I am sad, happy or confused, the thing that lifts my mood is a book. I have books starting from thrillers to classics.
OK, I have shared a lot about my books. Now let’s talk about the summer vacation which changed everything.
SCHOOL VACATIONS:
I hate vacations, especially the summer vacations in school. The school closes and everything ends. No idea, as to what to do for two months. Like seriously, there are lot of hobby classes and all. But well, I was never interested or say not much inclined towards art or singing. No offence to anyone. So for me, it was two months of doing nothing.
Exams over, vacations started. Well everyone is excited, but me, well as I said, I am a different case altogether. Two days of vacation and I am bored.
It was during this time, that I visited the public library with my sister.
And WOW, I was mesmerized. Racks of books surrounded me, I was lost in heaven. But than I remembered I had no money for a membership. My sister was a member, so she got an extra book, so I asked her if I can take a book in her name and that’s how it all began. My first book was a Tinkle. Why I read them basically because they were colorful, vibrant and funny. I know, I sound a bit stupid. Well that is how my journey of reading started. After Tinkle, it was Chandamama and many more…
My fascination for books increased and I started reading novels.
Started with Enid Blyton, than Sidney Sheldon…. and the list continues…..The list is huge and endless..
I can actually write an entire book on it. But it is not fair. So let’s go one at a time.
So this is how my love for reading and books started. Now, in my next blog, I will talk about my love for Tinkle Comics.
